Qantas has announced that it will operate the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on daily flights across the Tasman between Sydney and Auckland over the summer. The flights will be scheduled from 4 December 2019 to 28 March 2020
Passengers travelling on Qantas flights QF141 (Sydney to Auckland) and QF144 (Auckland to Sydney) will be able to experience the Dreamliner’s next-generation Economy, Premium Economy and Business class cabins.
The flights are an opportunity for Qantas to showcase the 787 across the Tasman before more Dreamliners arrive and begin operating across the airline’s long-haul international network in 2020.
How to book your Qantas trans-Tasman Dreamliner flight
Revenue fares and award seats between Sydney and Auckland QF141 QF144 are now available to book online at Qantas.com. Sale fares in Premium Economy are being offered from $299 one-way.
Travellers can also look to use points for a Classic Reward seat. Right now, we’re seeing good award seat availability in all cabins across the summer period, with the exception of the peak Christmas season and early January period, which appears to be blacked out.
You’ll need to be quick, though, as award seats for popular dates are likely to be nabbed soon. The points cost for a one-way award flight is as follows:
- Economy class – 18,000 Qantas Points, plus taxes
- Premium Economy class – 27,000 Qantas Points, plus taxes
- Business class – 36,000 Qantas Points, plus taxes
Will you take the opportunity to test out the Qantas Dreamliner?
