Singapore Airlines luxe with Taittinger Comtes de Champagne

Not content with Krug and Dom Perignon, Singapore Airlines adds a third Champagne to the first class line-up.

Travellers in Singapore Airlines first class will soon be able to enjoy the exquisite taste of Taittinger Comtes de Champagne. Singapore Airlines is adding this prestigious drop (and one of my personal favourites) to the first class line up from 27 October 2019.

In selecting the champagne, SIA’s Wine Panel, comprising world-renowned wine experts Michael Hill-Smith, Jeannie Cho Lee and Oz Clarke, conducted blind tastings of wines from many of the world’s most famous wine regions, before deciding upon Comtes de Champagne for its exceptional quality and taste.

Each year, more than 350,000 bottles of champagne are served on SIA flights. Comtes de Champagne joins two prestige cuvées in First Class, Dom Pérignon and Krug Grand Cuvée, which continue to be well received by customers.

The introduction of Comtes de Champagne joins SIA’s other upcoming First Class enhancements. From mid-November 2019, customers can look forward to special edition unisex amenity kits with a new series of the iconic crystal fishes from renowned luxury French crystalmaker Lalique. From 2020, First Class customers can also look forward to an enhanced caviar service that will be expanded to more flights.

“We are excited to launch Comtes de Champagne on SIA flights, and introduce another prestigious label on rotation to increase variety and delight the keen palates of our frequent flyers,” said SIA’s Divisional Vice President Inflight Services and Design, Ms Betty Wong.

“Along with our other refinements to First Class, these enhancements represent our commitment to provide our premium customers with one of the finest air travel experiences in the world.”

Comtes de Champagne will first be served on flights to Auckland, Beijing, Delhi, Dubai, Melbourne, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo (Haneda) from 27 October 2019 to February 2020, before being rotated to other routes.
